Singer Ellie Goulding is hoping the unity which had been evident with the Glastonbury festival to carry on in the wake of Britain’s EU Referendum.

The British singer performed on the annual music festival in Somerset, England on Sunday, just days as soon as the United Kingdom voted to depart the European Union.

The decision is mainly responsible for major divisions between your ‘Leave’ and ‘Remain’ camps, but Ellie was very happy to see everyone come together on the festival, and hopes the spirit on the event helps carry the U.K. through uncertain times.

“I know products have been a lttle bit weird recent days. Actually that’s an understatement,” Ellie said, according to The Mirror. “but it’s extremely nice to remain a place for you is so much unity and where everyone can be so happy and friendly and dancing together and laughing together and loving one another.

“I really hope let’s focus on this lovely country that I are now living in and you are now living in that that sentiment, that spirit of Glastonbury, happens nationwide still, because I know some really terrible important things have been happening and I really hope that whenever you go home that you simply guys will require that spirit to you,”

The tensions due to the referendum vote has resulted in violence and abuse geared towards immigrants residing in England – as being the immigration issue was one with the main factors that cause the vote to go away the EU, and Ellie is encouraging Glastonbury revellers setting a good example inside weeks and months ahead.

“If the thing is that that that spirit just isn’t happening wherever your house is, wherever that you are, with people… We are all an individual, we’re all human beings,” she said. “I only want to say I really hope that any of us can all carry the spirit of Glastonbury home around, because that might make me thrilled.”
